We had a quiet and filling Thanksgiving with just the five of us, my mom, brother and Nonna who came for dessert. We really enjoyed the quality time. On Saturday, Al & I drove down to Sea Girt for a visit. We first stopped by the beach to see the damage from hurricane Sandy. The boardwalk was mostly destroyed but it appeared the dunes protected the houses on beachfront. At home were, Margaret and Jim, James and Michele, Paul and Deb, niece and nephew, Kate and Paul and Kate’s boyfriend, Jake. Before dinner, Debbi, Margaret, Michele and I went on a fun shopping outing on the avenue in Point Pleasant.
Cecelia Rahner is staying at Paul and Deb’s house while her house that was flooded on the creek in Manasquan is repaired. She and her son Doug, who was here helping her, joined us for dinner. Jim prepared and incredible meal of filet mignon, lamb chops, mashed sweet potato, asparagus and salad. We had assorted Thanksgiving dessert leftovers including, Doug’s cheesecake and delicious chocolate mousse Kate made.
Let the eating and shopping begin…Thanksgiving was a great beginning to the holiday season. Looking forward to more family time with the upcoming Antinori traditional Christmas Eve event and classic Christmas Day with my family.
